Our client are a rapidly expanding digital agency based in London. Due to exceptional growth and expansion plans, they are now looking for a high calibre Senior Planner/Buyer to join their team.
You will start to take on managerial responsibilities and will be expected to motivate and get involved with the career development of junior members of the team.
The role also demands greater client servicing responsibilities, attending client meetings without a more senior member of staff present and proactively putting forward new ideas and innovations.
Principle tasks & responsibilities
1. Taking campaign briefings from clients and pro-actively building the business strategy with them
2. Investigating consumer segmentation/targeting and product attributes
3. Producing initial online marketing strategy, in conjunction with the Account Manager and Account Director
4. Preparation of digital media timing plans
5. Presentation of strategy and media plans to clients
Planning
This role requires the highest possible standards of media planning and buying. This stems from a high level of market awareness, including important trends and identification of new and existing digital media opportunities.
Buying
The planner/buyer must ensure that planned activity is delivered through negotiation with media owners of cost-effective and appropriately placed media. The planner/buyer must be able to conceive and negotiate deals that benefit the client, the agency and also the media owner.
Background
• Experience of working in digital media
• Experience of managing client relationships on a day-to-day basis
• Experience of presenting in formal conditions
• Experience of day to day campaign reporting
• Experience of working with all major traffic and technology systems
Skills
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure
• Very high degree of numeracy
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to operate with minimal supervision
• Confident dealing with clients at a senior level
• Potential to manage others
