Précis
The team is an in-house PR department who function as a PR agency for my clients diverse businesses (over 50) and also as the Group’s corporate PR function. You will be expected to service and take responsibility for running the PR campaigns for a number of businesses as well as some key contracts.

Proactive media relations
Write and sell in press releases with a good eye for an angle
Develop and enhance media contact programme for spokespeople
Regular media relations activity to support important Group news
Assist with the ongoing development of good media contacts
Source and identify news and features
Monitor trade, regional and national press and build high level of awareness of trends and hot topics
Sell in and ghost-write articles for key trade press
Advising: provide strategic counsel on corporate reputation and messaging to executives across the businesses. Brief and coach spokespersons.
Strategy and planning: Create and deliver communications strategies to meet group business objectives; work closely with senior management and marketing teams across key businesses to identify and generate positive stories in the relevant media. Develop messages for individual businesses.
Reactive media enquiries and issues management: Identify and manage risk across the Group; prepare responses to negative enquiries; act as company spokesperson; work with colleagues from other departments such as Public Affairs to anticipate issues and ensure effective communication to key stakeholders.
Initiate and contribute to business development for PR team.
Internal relationship management: Maintain a range of internal contacts across the Group.
What We’re Looking For
Proven breadth and depth of media relations experience and execution with extensive PR knowledge gained through working in an established PR agency or in-house PR environment, preferably for a large organisation. Experience likely to have come from working on broad B2B and corporate PR campaigns.
Experience of some of the following sectors would be useful: HR and training, financial services (B2B not personal finance) ICT, property and construction, public sector (central and local government), business travel and education.
