Junior PHP Developer

Simply Online Services are searching for a Junior PHP Developer to work on our industry leading niche Jobs Boards based at our brand new offices in Preston. You should have around 12 months experience or come from a college background in a related course.

Key skills and experience required:

· Strong PHP skills

· Experience of MySQL

· Understanding of a Linux environment

· Sound HTML and CSS skills

· Good understanding of coding to W3C standards and accessibility issues

· Experience of using Photoshop and understanding of web graphic production

· Any graphic design experience will be an advantage

The Role

This position will include the following responsibilities:

· Supporting the sales team with graphic creation, bespoke mini site creation and HTML email production

· Maintaining the current portals on a daily basis including updating copy and code and bug fixing

· Developing solutions to facilitate new functionality on the portals

· Creation of animated GIF banners

· Running SQL reports to support the sales team

The Person

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

· Enthusiasm, drive and great communication skills are essential.

· Confident and proactive approach to work.

· A general understanding of the Microsoft Office suite.

· Good problem analysis and solving skills

· Good time management

· Ability to work on more than 1 project at a time
