Experienced Web Designer required to work within central digital development team of major regional newspaper publisher, working on portfolio of nearly 200 media websites. You must have strong visual design skills plus high level of HTML and CSS coding ability. Some Flash would alos be desirable.
Your remit will be to produce usable designs for editorial and commercial projects.
Creating wire frame designs and mock-ups, coding in HTML, CSS, to WCAG Level 2 compliance. Advising on appropriate level of resourcing and design standards and devising new workflows to improve efficiency.
Most importantly you should have a strong creative flair and awareness of the importance of SEO and W3C validation. Be an ecellent communicator, team player and be able to put ideas into practice. Appreciation of local media brands and reader involvement, broad understanding of modern web design and a passion and enthusiasm for emerging web technologies.
