Our client specialises in transforming data into powerful information using customer
intelligence technology and unique data sources. A recent reorganisation of their IT department has seen the creation of the Technical Project Manager role, which will take on projects for several major finance-sector clients through the full lifecycle. The role-holder will:
- work with the sales team to develop technical proposals and win new business for the company
- develop and deliver demonstrations to prospective clients
- fully manage the planning, execution and production implementation of new projects
- identify new opportunities within existing clients.
The successful candidate must have an excellent grounding in relational database design and implementation. This role is likely to suit a strong developer or development team leader who wishes to shift their career path away from the technical side, although a strong technical background is essential.
New applications are developed in Java, Oracle PL/SQL and Perl, with various scripting
languages, C and Microsoft .NET making up the existing development toolset. You will need to have an in-depth understanding of at least one major development platform plus one scripting language (Perl, Python, PHP). You will have a strong knowledge of SQL and RDBMS design principles and excellent communications skills with both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients.
