Job Description

An eminent Recruiter would like to recruit a Graduate in order to help with the smooth running of the office and develop into a recruitment consultant. This is a role for someone who is more sales rather than marketing focused. The role will have 2 distinct stages:

Stage 1

1. Database Maintenance
o Make sure that the database is updated with changes as and when required.
o Inform consultants of candidate email changes based on results from newsletter distribution and make changes accordingly on candidate records.

2. Marketing (mainly through advertising vacancies on a number of web-based job boards)
o Write copy for new jobs as and when we receive them
o Post relevant jobs on various websites, including our own.
o Update / monitor on a weekly basis

3. General Day to Day Office Duties

• Answering phones
• Greeting candidates/clients (as and when required)
• Sitting in on interviews to better understand the process
• Attend some client meetings with fellow consultants
• Help write pitches to bring on new clients

Stage 2 - Job Description

The role will expand into more of a sales one

Key competencies include:
o At least 15 new business calls per week
o 10 client visits per month
o All first jobbers should be put into the database.
o You should maintain telephone contact with ALL clients on a regular basis and you should arrange a face-to-face visit with them at least once in a twelve month period
o Calls MUST be returned to ALL candidates and clients
o Shadowing the consultants in order to learn the trade
o Sitting in on candidate interviews with senior consultants.
o Ongoing on-the-job training.

Person Specification

Ideally, we are looking for an individual with the drive and desire to carve himself/herself a successful career in media sales. The successful candidate will have:
• Previous work experience (ideally in a sales environment) - Retail Sales, Telesales, Office work
• Knowledge of advertising and the media industry
• Excellent communication, administration and organisational skills
• Excellent knowledge of basic computer packages (Microsoft Office, including Excel & Power-point).
• An interest in the commercial aspect of the media industry

And must be:
• A team Player
• Confident, driven and enthusiastic

6 months to 2 years of sales experience, whether it be face to face sales, media or on the phones is ideal, but exceptional grads welcome.
