Sales Manager
Reporting to: Show Director.
Managing: Sales Executive.
Primary Roles:
Management and development of the sales team.
In conjunction with the Show Director developing strategies and initiatives to ensure the ongoing growth and development of the shows.
Telesales to existing and potential exhibitors to meet sales revenue targets.
Face to face meetings with new and existing key clients.
Sourcing relevant and show enhancing new business.
Collection and reporting of all industry intelligence to the team.
Monitoring and evaluation of all competitor activity.
Creation, monitoring and evaluation of individual and team sales plans.
Creation of all sales promotional material with the marketing team.
Developing and maintaining excellent relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners and the rest of the show team.
Keeping abreast of market developments and identifying and researching new growth areas for sales.
Visiting existing and potential clients/sponsors/partners regularly to build new and enhance existing relationships.
Attending and participating at industry functions when required.
Visiting relevant exhibitions in the UK and on the continent.
Maintaining key customer care objectives.
Handling enquiries on the telephone and by post, producing mailings and general office correspondence.
Ensuring that all sales administration is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
Resolving exhibitor conflicts both in the office and on site.
Working on site during the build up, open period and breakdown of all the shows.
Contributing to the whole show team including marketing, pr, ops, finance to ensure the specific needs of the sales team are met thereby getting the continued support of the exhibitors.
Collating and producing sales plans and reports as required.
Liaison with the finance department to assist in credit control.
Floor plan management and allocation of stand space in conjunction with the Show Director and Operations Manager.
Awareness of all relevant Health & Safety issues relating to both the floor plan and exhibition as a whole.
Attending training courses as directed by line manager.
At all times representing Clarion Events in a professional manner.
Management:
Day to day management of any Sales Executives on the show team.
Setting clear goals and objectives for all reporting staff.
Setting, monitoring and evaluation of performance targets.
Completing annual staff appraisals as necessary.
Recruitment of new or replacement staff as necessary
Awareness of employment procedures, disciplinary actions and employment law issues.
Assessing, developing and coaching for all reporting staff.
Ensuring that training and development needs for all are met.
Sales budget management, forecasting and development.
Personal contribution to the entire budget and forecast process.
Notifying the finance team when targets are met to ensure bonuses are paid.
An understanding of the company's objectives and goals for the future and their part in achieving them.
