The job holder is required to sell online advertising and market products across our email marketing opportunities effectively over the telephone in order to achieve team and journal objectives.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities:
Acquiring:
Wins new business from competitor publications
Negotiates volume advertising agreements with clients following agreed guidelines
Builds relationships with key decision makers
Identifies growth objectives for agreed target advertisers
Monitors competitive media on a regular basis to establish client activity
Increases penetration of existing markets and opens up new ones
Effectively sells to achieve new business target, including call rates, yield and market share
Understands selling process including structure and segmentation requirements
Maintaining:
Develops lucrative working relationships with existing customers
Penetrates existing customers to increase market share and deliver additional products
Reviews account performance and manages effectively
Creates innovative ways to build business from existing customers and the market
Negotiates effectively
Possesses up to date knowledge of customers and the market
Maintains customer database
Supports customer strategy and process
Is a source of market information for clients
Provides client and competitor information and intelligence to Head of Sales and other team members
Effectively sells to achieve targets including call rates, yield and market share
Complies to RBI sales systems
Liaise effectively with all internal departments (Customer Accounts/Production/Editorial and any other appropriate areas)
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Able to sell effectively over the telephone
People orientated, excellent listening skills
Able to build relationships over the telephone
Able to build relationships both external and internal
Able to acquire an effective working knowledge of journal, market and customers
Good time management
Strong organisational ability
PC literate
Commercial acumen
Knowledge of customer products
Demonstrable understanding of sales proposition
Understanding of RBI procedures and ways of working
Multi-tasking/deadline oriented
Highly motivated
