Job Description
Leading creative digital agency in Dubai is looking for a strong, savvy leader with a minimum of 5 years hands-on development experience to lead and inspire a talented team. Candidates must be passionate about development/coding and willing to lead by example. You will be charged with leading the technical direction as well as growing, hiring and mentoring the technical team whilst reporting directly to the Technical Director and working closely with the project managers, client services and the design team.
Job Responsibilities
* Work closer with the Technical Director to lead and supervise a development team of .NET, XHTML and Flash programmers.
* Draft functional and technical specification documents.
* Provide estimation and resource planning.
* Conduct code reviews and sign off on technical solutions and approaches.
* Maintain high coding standards and practices and exercise quality control on all aspects of development.
* Allow your own self-motivation to inspire your experimental side, and that of others in the team.
* Nurture junior members of the team, introducing them to your skill-set without completely blinding them (making their eyes sting a little is fine).
* Raise awareness of new technologies and development methodologies.
Job Requirements
* 5+ years experience in a multi-disciplined digital production environment working with application and microsite development in Flash, .NET & XHTML.
* Proven hands-on experience developing multi phased complex web applications.
* Expert knowledge of server and client side technologies.
* Good knowledge of AS and OOP techniques.
* Experience with content, email & ad serving management systems.
* Solid understanding of web production & quality assurance processes.
* A keen interest in innovation & experimental development.
* Keen problem solver able to cut through logic like a hot knife through butter.
* But not keen with sticking to the norm - a desire to experiment and push the boundaries is a must.
