OVERVIEW
The Web Developer is responsible for the development and maintenance of advanced front-end web technologies on this companies websites, within the London-based Digital Media team. The role is predominantly front-end based but a working knowledge of back-end technologies is beneficial.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Advanced development of Javascript, AJAX, (X)HTML, CSS, XML and XSLT.
* Modification and maintenance of above mentioned web technologies.
* Work with the technical, design and editorial teams to deliver projects on time and to specification.
* Acting as an advisor on above mentioned web technologies and general web related issues.
ROLE SPECIFIC EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
* Proven advanced knowledge of above mentioned technologies and their limitations.
* Proven track record of working on multiple projects within a development team.
* Any basic working knowledge of the following is beneficial:
o Unix environments
o SQL
o Apache & Tomcat servers
o Java programming
* Experience of working with international teams across time zones is beneficial.
* Self motivated and enthusiastic.
* Good communications skills and time keeping.
* Competent in the use of Microsoft operating systems and Office suite.
